Erlend Oye's super side project Kings of Convenience has been retouched by a duo hailing from toronto, canada called What Kind Of Breeze Do You Blow. Besides that admittedly curious band name they did a pretty good job on remixing one of the most influential and independent songwriters of the last decade and are also able to impress me with their excellent remixes for some other critically acclaimed artists. Head over to their myspace and show at least some support to this young and innocent couple for that amusing name.Kings of Convenience / What Kind Of Breeze Do You Blow

As a precursor to their upcoming album acephale records is coming along with the latest single by australia's Midnight Juggernauts. This New Technology was screaming for some rework, which led to massive remixes by the such as The Juan Mclean, Emperor Machine, Nile Delta and Memory Tapes.First up is my favourite by mysterious nile delta, which i could't find much information about. The following remix by Emperor Machine needs no more introduction, since these guys have always been acknowledged from my side for massive disco productions and energetic remixes.
Last but not least here's what DFA's The Juan Mclean had to contribute to this excellent release and of course the crazed out remix by DMA's favourite Memory Tapes aka Memory Cassette aka Weird Tapes.
If you like what you're listening to, This New Technology is now available on acephale records in both limited edition and digital, here.

It's time for some contemporary pop music that fits right in with upcoming young british bands coining the direction for a new wave of dreamy luscious pop lately. The High Wire make sensual music in which male and female voice's take turns while the song structure is kept simple and plain, using retrospective instruments and sounds. The High Wire's forthcoming album is set for release in early 2010 and was co-produced by Rik Simpson, who has previously worked with the likes of Blur, Portishead and Coldplay. After listening to Leave Me in Love i have to assume that 2010 will undoubtedly be the year of The High Wire.

I was told that Newislands is a band to watch out for in 2010 and after doing some research i pretty much had to agree. Newislands is a duo made up of David Jones (fomer frontman of The Departure) and producer Luke Shoesmith, since forming earlier this summer they've build up an impressive following, played support shows for Miike Snow, booked a show with BBC and performed at offset festival. Things seem to move fast for these guys lately- so here's a remix for their Out Of Time single by LA's Active Child.Newislands is the latest addition to Anorak London's artist roster. They're actually so hot, that there's not much music or something available on their myspace, so you better watch out!

I received this decent email the other day telling me that upcoming swedish band Son Green had their hands on Phoenix's Fences. What else could they do than turn the original into a beautiful pop song filled with amazing synthie hooks and of course the amazing vocals by Thomas Mars. Enjoy this one!

The glasgow duo Den Haan (Matthew Aldworth & Andrew Gardiner) are back with a massive 12" released on their very own label The Courier Of Death. Having established themselves as firm favorites for clubs as optimo (espacio) or london's fabric they come along with an action packed release which brings you behind the wheels of an high energy car chase persued by moroderesque synth lines and punching glam rock guitars.Den Haan - Heist (dl)
Russian Boat Commander, on the other hand, is my favourite. A classic cossack disco stomper taking you on an epic voyage of symphonic eastern melodies and reminding me of early 80's russian disco group Zodiac.

Frontman of the excellent disco workout blog and as a remixer always on the go baron von luxxury reworked stuck in the middle by us band the burning hotels. After getting informed about this latest video + track i did not hesitate a second to post it right away. Don't really know what to think of the zany video, but it fits right into an emerging style of sample music being represented by the such as memory cassette, neon indian, washed out a.o.The Burning Hotels - Stuck in the Middle (Baron Von Luxxury Controls Everything Remix) from You and Yours on Vimeo.
After a few standout remixes for the such as little boots's meddle and anna's systems breaking down, i was following his work quite attentively and featured both songs on dma. Baron von luxxury's rework for the burning hotels is a little faster than the one's mentioned above, but he keeps up a dreamy, melodical and of course a sampler based way of interpreting the tracks he gets his hands on.

This band of british teenagers that impressed us all with their recent self titled lp and got me totally hooked on their blend of new wave, post punk and modern hipster music (sorry for that) had their hand's on florence and the machine's you got the love. I shouldn't wonder about them getting me so impressed, since their album seems to me like a continuation of the cure's seventeen seconds mixed with a blend of young marble giants and some guitar licks reminding me of the whitest boy alive. So far so good, after missing out on being one of the first to discover this clearly great music, i have to hook you guys up with something that anyone who feels the same about the xx as i do will definitely adore.Just like their debut album is a stroke of genius which does exactly what it promises, this remix for florence and the machine will not leave my walkman for a long time as well. Listen to florence's original, which is already an excellent cover for candi staton's legendary you got the love and compare for yourself which one you like the best!

Since i'm all up for some buddy love today i have to introduce you to Bossasaurus. Don't get scared by what you'll be reading now:*65 million years ago*: Asteroids rain down from the sky and smoke from monolithic volcanoes chokes the air. A family of particularly handsome dinosaurs, the original descendants of Bossasaurus, huddle inside a cave studio in what is now modern day California. Crammed around a primitive field recorder, they hum a tune not soon to be forgotten. The tune warns of the of the coming of the end of days: fire, brimstone and the proliferation of garbage-ass music. As the obnoxious sounds of Popasaurus echo off the outside canyon walls, lava and ash smother the earth, leaving only the Bossasaurus to give warning about the risk of history repeating itself...
The Boys from Bossasaurus have been featured over here before with their great music, so head over to their myspace, show 'em some love and watch out for their upcoming LP!
